PC is an innovative firm that aggregates and develops GHG offset projects in agriculture and renewable energy in Canada, although other jurisdictions are under consideration.

Our Project Types

PC is active in tillage, manure management, and other potential agronomic based offsets with its partner Farmers Edge.  Through this partnership PC offers a number of innovative programs that build on both FE and PC’s abilities to create value at the farm level.  These programs offer industry leading products and services that maximize carbon values and engage the farmer on an ongoing basis with education and market intelligence (link to selected articles).  If you are a farmer in western Canada and are interested please contact your local Farmers Edge agent (link) or PC for more details.

PC is currently the only firm making carbon based investments on farms in Western Canada.  With its lagoon cover program, PC makes a significant investment on farms with large scale hog operations.  PC’s most recent project at Starlite Colony in Manitoba is an excellent example of an investment that benefits the hog sector today.  This project adds to PC other covered lagoons in Alberta.

This particular project will also benefit from the research being conducted on it by the U of M BioSystems Engineering department on methane production, crop nutrient management, and odor control.

PC extends its biogas experience to other related project types in the renewable energy area including biogas projects that capture and destroy methane, methane avoidance, and biogas to power.  Other renewable energy projects include biomass, and in particular, wood waste and other biomass to power.

Our Approach

PC becomes an intergrated partner in the projects it participates in.  Prior to all engagements, PC conducts thourough due diligence and realistically evaluates the risks and potential returns from all projects it considers. Within a well defined range, PC has two (2) models for its participation in the creation of GHG offsets.  1) direct investment in projects where PC makes or directs the investment in a given GHG project,  and 2) GHG offset project management and monetization of GHG offsets based on an exchange of services for a share of the GHG offsets stream.

GHG Offset Sales

PC is actively engaged in marketing compliance grade and high quality voluntary GHG offsets.  This includes compliance offsets for the Alberta system today, as well as, offsets in the Saskatchewan and Federal systems in the near future.  High quality voluntary offsets include both renewables and highly financially additional offset types.  Sales are structured to meet the needs of customers and can include pricing structures to satisfy most market views.
