We are now into our 6th year of controlled traffic farming. Inside our CTF Alberta group we are measuring changes in water infiltration rates compared to random traffic. As you can see by the graph here, we can drain 1" of water in 7 seconds. We can move water into the soil profile quicker than anyone else. We can now handle those 3-4 inches rains that come quick without impacting crop growth. Our soils are hovering around 65% porosity. That's a lot of air and a lot of room to store moisture.
